Winfred Wayne Welch

Winfred Wayne Welch of Trenton, FL passed away at Ayers Rehabilitation Center in Trenton on Wednesday, April 29, 2020. He was 78 years old. He was born on December 12, 1941 to parents, James and Ruth Welch in Micanopy, FL and was a lifelong resident of Trenton. Mr. Welch served Gilchrist County as Tax Collector from 1973 until his retirement. He was an avid golfer, a member of the Trenton Rotary Club and Trenton Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janice Welch and his brother, David Welch. He is survived by his wife, Linda Maxwell Welch of Trenton; his daughter, Terri (Mike) Barton of Gainesville, FL; his sister, Ruth Anne (Ben) Bennett of Trenton; his brother, William "Bill" Welch of Perry, FL and his grandson, Michael Barton. A Private Graveside Service for Mr. Welch will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. Everritt Heaton officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Ayers Rehabilitation Center or Haven Hospice of Chiefland.
