Washington "Mackie" Prescott, of Bell, born on February 27, 1936, in Lake City, Florida, bid farewell to this world June 17, 2024, in Chiefland, Florida.
During his time on Earth, Washington led a fulfilling life as an electrician for Georgia Pacific of Chiefland, showcasing his dedication and skill in his chosen career. Before that he also worked for Texaco, delivering fuel, as well as a maintenance worker for Florida Seacoast railroad. His journey began at Columbia High School, where he laid the for a successful future ahead.
Not only was Washington committed to his professional pursuits, but he also selflessly served his country with honor and valor. He dedicated 4 and a half years of his life to the Army, undertaking an overseas deployment to England and Germany as part of a missile unit. His bravery and service will forever be remembered and cherished.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Mildred Hall Prescott. The two were married on June 9, 1962.
Washington is survived by his sons Miles Prescott and Joseph Prescott (Mary). As well as 7 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
Washington Prescott will be fondly remembered for his hard work, loyalty, and unwavering dedication both in his professional endeavors and personal relationships. His legacy will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
May he rest in peace knowing that his memory will live on in the hearts of all those who were touched by his kindness and generosity. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time of loss.
