Vernon Dale Wesley, age 79, of Trenton, FL, passed away at home on Monday, October 29, 2018. He was born to parents Nelson and Geneva Carter Wesley on November 21, 1938 in New Castle, IN and had been a resident of Trenton since moving from Gainesville, FL over 41 years ago. Mr. Wesley was a Truck Driver and was of the Baptist faith. . He was a Tribal Council member of Cherokees of Georgia. His given Native American name was Silver Two Hawks. He was proud of his Native American Heritage.
He is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Lula Wesley; his daughters, Holly (Wayne) Bussard, Patricia (Charles) Lee and Amy (Charles) Woods, all of Trenton, FL and Cheryl (Pete) Graeve of NC; his sons, Alan Wesley of Gainesville, FL and John (Elizabeth) Wesley of Trenton, FL; his brothers, Bob (Ruth) Wesley, Ronnie (Jackie) Wesley and Jerry (Cheryl) Wesley, all of IN; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mr. Wesley will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Union Baptist Church with Pastor Travis Moody officiating. Interment to follow at Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 PM.
