Valerie Ann Benton

March 9, 1971 — July 23, 2024

As her final battle ended in dignity, this brave warrior became an angel in heaven. She is dancing with the angels at the throne of the Lord.

Valerie Ann Benton, 53, of Bell, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2024 at HCA Florida North Florida Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. She was born in Gainesville on March 9, 1971, living most of her life in Newberry. She was a 1989 graduate of Newberry Jr. Sr. High School and a graduate of City College. She worked as a sales clerk and as a book keeper. Valerie was a member of Union Baptist Church in Newberry. She was preceded in death by her father James N. Benton, step-father Robert H. Stanley, sisters Margie Kay Benton and Marsha Fay Benton and step-brother Charles L. Stanley.

 She is survived by her loving family: mother, Margaret Stanley of Bell; sisters, Donna of Indiana and Michelle of Ocala; step-sisters Candy Shaw of Gainesville, Tammy Price of New York, Cindy Antwine of Georgia, and Shirley Stanley of Georgia; nieces, Montana Adams, Ashley Antwine, Heather Price, Christy Shaw, Melissa Shaw and adopted niece Kaitlyn Coburn; nephews, Eddie Browning, Zach Adams, Robby Price and Aaron Shaw.

 Special thanks is given to the late Woodrow Smith, Chris and Melissa Woods, Cindy and Dave Watson, Chuck and Susan Smith, Calvin Carlisle, Kristy Lindsey, David, Daniel, J. D., and Jesse Woods, EraBella Griffis, Marty White, Keri Fruend, Mike Gaskins and Danette Arrington.

A private burial will be held at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Newberry. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Watson-Milton Funeral Home in Trenton, Florida.
