Tressie Mae Cannon

Tressie Mae Cannon of Bell, FL, passed away on June 26, 2018 at Ayers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Trenton, FL. She was 82 years old. Mrs. Cannon was born on August 24, 1935 in Pierson, FL to Virgil and Myrtle Gordon and had been a resident of Bell since moving from Ormond Beach, FL in 1978. She was the owner of Cannon Well Drilling and was a homemaker. Mrs. Cannon was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Bell. She was an animal lover, loved to garden, loved gospel music and was the song leader for many years with her church. She also enjoyed cooking for and spending time with her family. Mrs. Cannon is preceded in death by her husband, James Hillman Cannon. She is survived by her daughters, Theresa (Mitchell) Gentry and Anita (David) Moore of Bell, FL; her sons, Joseph (Kendra) Lyons of Randleman, NC, Richard (Marsha) Lyons of Macclenney, FL and Thomas (Shasta) Cannon of Bell, FL; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, June 29, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00. Funeral Services for Mrs. Cannon will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM at New Hope Baptist Church with Reverend Lynn Wagner officiating. Interment will follow at Townsend Cemetery in Bell, FL. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Haven Hospice at www.beyourhaven.org
