Timothy Craig Sheffield

Timothy “Timmy” Sheffield, age 65, of Trenton, passed away on September 24, 2024, at his home. Timmy was born on July 22, 1959, in Gainesville. He grew up in Lake Butler but called Gilchrist County home for the last 30 years. He loved farming and working with his hands. That passion led him to a job with the University of Florida’s Agriculture Department for over 10 years. For the last 20 years, he worked in the lawn care industry, mainly with Sling Blade Lawn Service. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed freshwater fishing and hunting, especially for squirrels.

Timmy was an outgoing guy who never met a stranger. He was always willing to lend someone a helping hand. He had a contagious personality that made others feel loved.

He was preceded in death by, his birth mom Belinda Dougherty; and his grandparents, Chester and Clara Sheffield.

Timmy is survived by his children, Lydia (Jeremy) Morris of Lake Butler and Jonathan (Michelle) Sheffield of Trenton; his father, Carl Sheffield and mother, Elizabeth Sheffield both of Trenton; his grandchildren, Candace, Casey, and Caylynn Morris, Jacob, Joshua, Taylor, and Ella Sheffield, Kyla Wright, and Logan Bell; his siblings, Dannielle (Tanya) Godwin and Glenda Sheffield all of Gilchrist County, Tammy (Glen) Garber and Tracie (Jim) Elliot all of Starke, and Dewey (Leila) Dougherty of TN; his half brother, Johnny Sheffield; numerous extended family also survive.

A Celebration of Timmy’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 1, at 6:00 pm at Watson-Milton Funeral Home in Trenton. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
