Mr. Roscoe F. Smith, went to be with the Lord on August 17, 2024 at the V.A. Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, at the age of 78. Born on March 26, 1946, in High Springs, Florida, Mr. Smith devoted a significant portion of his life to serving others and nurturing his passions. Mr. Smith retired after a commendable 33-year career with the Postal Service, where he was known for his dedication and work ethic. His commitment did not go unnoticed, as he contributed to the community in numerous ways throughout his professional life and continued to do so with his family. His creative spirit was evident in all his endeavors, and he cherished spending time outdoors in his garden nurturing his plants, and shaping wood into artistic creations. Smith had a passion for gardening and a particular fondness for carving wood, especially creating beautiful canes. You could typically find him outside finding something productive to do. He was an active member of the Spirit of Holiness Church in Bell, where he formed lasting connections with his fellow parishioners. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family that, among others, will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Gail Smith; his son, Shane (Tiffany) Smith; his grandchildren, Seth (Sara) Smith and Ashlie Smith all of Bell, Fl; and his sister, Carol (Ed) Roberts, of Williston, Fl.. These family members remember him not only for his skills and hobbies but also for the love and warmth he consistently provided in their lives.
A viewing and visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM , both at Watson Milton Funeral Home located at 426 W. Wade Street, Trenton, Florida.
