Robert Vincent Taylor, age 62, of High Springs, passed away unexpectedly on November 9, 2022. He was born on November 27, 1959, in Ocala, to Jonathon and Elizabeth (West) Taylor. He grew up in Gainesville and graduated from Buchholtz High School. After high school, Robert attended Sante Fe College where he obtained his AA degree in Business. He soon went to work with Farm Bureau as an insurance adjustor and in the early 90’s opened his own insurance adjusting company. Robert had a love for cars, especially corvettes, and loved being a mechanic on the side. Friends and family from the community would bring projects for Robert to work on. He also loved coaching his sons in baseball and basketball, fishing, and being on the water. He was an easy-going guy who was loved by many and will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Taylor, and his parents.
Robert is survived by his children, Erica Taylor of Waldo, Victoria Taylor of Gainesville, Megan (Chris) Boyette of Alachua, Bobby (Rachel) Taylor of High Springs, and Joshua Atkins of Ft. Lauderdale; grandchildren, Wesley Lewis, Weston Cowart, Clara Cowart, Eden Taylor, and two more on the way; siblings, Chris (Renee) Taylor of Hartwell, GA, and Rebecca Allen of Middleburg; and his lab, Copper.
A Celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Thursday, November 17 at 12:00 pm at Watson-Milton Funeral Home, Trenton. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
