Mrs. Phyllis Virginia Williams, age 93, of Chiefland, Florida passed away on March 15, 2022, at the North Florida Regional Hospital in Gainesville. She was born on September 22, 1928, in Decatur, Illinois to Virgil and Caroline Booker. She grew up in Illinois and worked on the farm until she married the love of her life, Dale Williams. The couple moved to Clearwater, Florida in 1971 before finally settling in Chiefland in 1989. She was a devoted wife and mother who took pride in raising her children. She was a faithful Christian. Mrs. Williams is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Dale; her daughter, Georgia Hall; brother, Vere (Evelyn) Booker; great-granddaughter, Amy Sanderlin; and son-in-law, James Sanderlin.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her children; Jackie Sanderlin of Trenton, Jeff (April) Williams of Chiefland; her grandchildren, Virginia and Chad Hall, Jeffery (Shandi) Williams, Annie (Eugene) Jenkins, Cody and Travis Williams, Angela (Troy) Breton, Jimbo (Sarah) Sanderlin, and Andrea (Eric) Elmendorf; 19 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great grandchildren; and a host of extended family also survive.
A funeral to honor Mrs. Williams’ life will be held on Monday, March 21 at 4:00 pm at the Watson-Milton Funeral Home in Trenton. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
