Minnie Lois Long Crawford, 72, of Old Town, FL, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017. Lois was born on November 12, 1944 to Alfred and Lottie Long in Old Town, FL. She graduated from Dixie County High School and moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1962 where she met Frank, her husband of 54 years. In 1970 she came back home to Dixie County where she remained for the rest of her life. She was retired from the Dixie County School System where she worked as a bookkeeper for Old Town Elementary.
She is survived by her husband, Frank; her daughter, Angie (Alton) Land; her sons, Guy (Michelle) Crawford and Mikey Crawford; eight grandchildren, Cory, Eason, Jacob, Shelby, Guy Jr., Anna, Whittney and Maci and two great-grandchildren, Caden and Jolee.
Lois was close with her sister-in-law, Gwen (Tim) Gray and was proud of her big family of eight sisters, three brothers and a host of nieces and nephews.
Lois loved her family and found joy in cooking their favorite meals, making jelly, sewing and playing with her great-grandkids. She also had a great love for books and nature, enjoyed flowers, going fishing with her sisters and taking her grandkids camping. Lois loved the Lord Jesus and stood firm in her Christian faith.
Funeral services will be held at New Prospect Baptist Church on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Jason Jones officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lois' memory to New Prospect Baptist Church for the Operation Christmas Shoebox ministry.
