As the sun sets on a life that has been nurturing and giving, so must the sun rise on a new life living in glory.

Margaret W. Stanley, 73, of Bell, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024 at Haven-Tri-Counties Hospice Care Center, Chiefland, Florida. She was born in Chiefland, Levy County, Florida on January 27, 1951, living most of her life in around Newberry. 

Margaret worked as a secretary for Shands before retiring. She was a member of Union Baptist Church in Newberry. Margaret also served as Girl Scout leader for Troop 52 in Newberry, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents David Causey and Edna Mae Smith Woods, her spouse, Robert H. Stanley, daughters, Valerie Ann Benton, Margie Kay Benton, and Marsha Fay Benton, stepson, Charles L. Stanley, sister, Dorothy Carol Woods, and brother Daniel Charles Woods.

She is survived by her loving family: daughters, Donna Benton of Indiana and Michelle Stanley of Ocala; step-daughters, Candy Shaw of Gainesville; Tammy Price of New York; Cindy Antwine of Georgia, and Shirley Stanley of Georgia; grandchildren, Montana Adams, Eddie Browning, and Zach Adams; step grandchildren, Ashley Antwine; Heather and Robby Price; Aaron, Christy and Melissa Shaw; adopted granddaughter Kaitlyn Coburn; nieces, Carol Stockley, Connie Wattenmaker, Danette Arrington, Deana White, and Wendy White, nephews, Paul Werner, David Woods, Christopher Woods, Richard Woods, Eric White, and David White.

Special thanks go to her nephew and family Chris Woods, niece and family Cindy Watson, niece Danette Arrington, and family friend, Marty White.

Funeral services will be held at Union Baptist Church of Newberry with Brother Travis Moody and Rev. Andy Cook officiating.  Family will receive friends at the church at 12:00 p.m. with service following at 1:00 p.m. on December 14, 2024. Burial will follow at Union Baptist Church Cemetery under the care and direction of Watson-Milton Funeral Home in Trenton, Florida. 352.463.8888 www.watsonmilton.com
