Johnny Edward Townsend

Johnny Edward Townsend, Jr., age 72, of Bell, FL, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. He was born on August 22, 1945 to Johnny Edward Townsend, Sr. and his wife Betty Franklin Townsend in St. Petersburg, FL and had been a resident of Bell since moving from Plant City, FL 29 years ago. Mr. Townsend loved his job as a Licensed Practical Nurse; working at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He proudly served his country in the Florida National Guard and was a member of New Beginning Baptist Church. Mr. Townsend is preceded in death by his parents and by his daughter, Leigh Ann Townsend. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Wilson Townsend of Bell and his sisters, Brenda Townsend Whited and Linda Townsend, both of Lithia, FL. Funeral Services for Mr. Townsend will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 7, 2018 at New Beginning Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Ruggles officiating. Interment to follow at Townsend Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to New Beginning Baptist Church or to Haven Hospice in Chiefland.
