Janyce Griffis, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025, in Bell, Florida; The city she called home since 1975. Born on December 10, 1936, in Medford, Oregon, Janyce lived a life rich in love and family.
Throughout her life, Janyce exhibited an unwavering devotion to her family, raising six children who were her pride and joy. She was so focused on being a homemaker that getting her driver’s license was never a priority; In fact, she never drove a day in her life.
An avid seamstress, Janyce had a passion for sewing and embroidery. Her creativity and skills were evident in the many beautiful pieces she crafted over the years, each reflecting her love and care.
Janyce is survived by her children, John Griffis, Calvin Griffis, Barbara Griffis, Betty Rehburg, and Joanne (Erik) Amsbury. Janyce found happiness in being a grandmother to ten grandchildren, and her legacy continued to grow through her 23 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband, Berry Griffis, and her son Jimmy Griffis; Her brother Bill Rosecrans, her twin sister, Joyce Bennett, as well as sister’s Daisy Bennett and Anna Bell Rosecran.
The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Janyce's remarkable life during the visitation on Tuesday, January 28th, from 6:00 PM at 7:30 PM at Watson-Milton Funeral Home in Trenton. Following this, a graveside service will take place at Trenton Cemetery on Wednesday, January 29th, at 4:30 PM, where Janyce will be laid to rest.
