Helen M. Adelsberger, 95, Bell, FL formerly of Fairfield, PA died Friday, February 9, 2018 at the home of her daughter, Audrey who cared for her for the last 9 years.
She was born March 27, 1922 in Fairfield, PA the daughter of the late William and Virginia Rose McGlaughlin. Her husband Earl D. Adelsberger died in 1980.
Helen was an active member of Jacob’s Church, Fairfield, PA. She had worked at the Gettysburg Shoe Factory and later at local apple packing plants, she also helped as a housekeeper for Geigley’s. Helen also ran the Blue Mountain Orchard Fruit Stand on Route 16 near Emmitsburg for many years. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling around the country.
Helen is survived by three children; Audrey Sites of Bell, FL, Marian Binder of Oregon City, OR, Vonnie Harbaugh of Sabillasville, MD, eight grandchildren, a sister, Mildred Morrison of Fairfield, PA, a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Adelsberger and a number of great grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Earl W. Adelsberger and 11 brothers and sisters and a granddaughter, Darby Binder.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Monahan Funeral Home in Fairfield at 2:00 PM with Rev. Richard Daughtridge officiating. Interment will be in Fairfield Union Cemetery. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
