Geraline Martin

Geraline Martin, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024, in Gainesville, Florida with family at bedside. Born on February 4,1938 to Oliver and Martha Fowler, in Bell, Florida, she lived a life rich in love and creativity.

For 23 years, Geraline dedicated herself to nurturing the students at Bell School, working in the cafeteria where her warmth and kindness were felt by all who visited.

Geraline was known for her artistic passions. She found joy in painting and drawing, expressing her creativity through art. Her love of gardening allowed her to cultivate beauty in nature, and her cooking brought comfort and warmth to those who gathered at her table.

Geraline is survived by her son, Gerald Matin of Bell, FL; her daughter Anita (John) Howard of Gainesville, FL; her sister Sue Boyd (Kenneth) of Bell; her grandchildren Trent Shepherd of Bell, FL, Kyle Shepherd (Amy) of Jacksonville, FL; Dalton Martin of Gainesville, FL; Zane Howard of Gainesville, FL; her great grandchildren Lily and Evan Shepherd of Jacksonville, FL and her niece Cindy Boyd of Gainesville, FL. 

Geraline is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Jimmy" Martin, her daughter, Sherry Lindsey, and her siblings, Farris Fowler and Nannette Thomas. Their memories live on in the hearts of those she left behind.

A graveside service to honor Geraline will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 2:30 PM at the Priscilla Baptist Church Cemetery in Bell.
