On Wednesday, May 9, 2018, Frank Andrew Glattli, Jr. of Trenton, Florida left this earth and
went home to be with the Lord. Andrew struggled with several illnesses and was recently
hospitalized for several days because of them. Andrew was born on March 12, 1929 to Frank Andrew Glattli, Sr. and Alice M. Berryhill Glattli in Coleman, Florida.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Walter H. Rike, Arthur Glattli and Louise Salerno. Andrew is survived by his children and grandchildren; Lisa L. Johnson (Doug) and children, Ryan Andrew Johnson and Rachel Leigh Johnson, Andrew Kevin Glattli (Polly) and Donna Gayle Beckham (Scott) and son, Cody Tyler Morris. He is also survived by his remaining siblings; Margaret Wright of Trenton, Florida, Theresa Varnadore of Ocala, Florida, Gary (Deanie) Glattli (Loyacell) of Ocala, Florida and Noel Glattli (Alice) of Anthony, Florida. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Andrew was drafted into the US Army during the Korean War and was trained as a Paratrooper in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He served 2 years in active duty but was never sent to combat as
the war was winding down at that point. Andrew worked for family most of his early life as a plumber before going into business for himself as a Plumbing Contractor, running Glattli Plumbing for many years in Ocala, Florida.
After retiring from plumbing and selling the property in Ocala, he worked for Florida Rock Industries for about 5 years as what he described as a “grease monkey”. His later years were spent helping raise his beloved grandson, Cody. Cody was his pride and joy and they had many special years together. Andrew loved to raise a garden, just to give it away. He could grow just about anything, anywhere. He also loved to build things and could build anything he put his mind to. He would do anything for anyone, all they had to do was ask. There were many people that we know of that he gave a helping hand up, just because he could. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services for Mr. Glattli will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Watson Funeral Home with Pastor Emanuel Harris officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Garden, 5740 S. Pine Ave., Ocala, FL at 3:00 P.M.
