Evelyn Lenora Jones

Evelyn "Lenora" Jones, age 87, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, in Gainesville, Florida. She was born on September 4, 1937, in Tampa, Florida. 

Lenora was known for her selfless and simple demeanor. A devoted educator, she dedicated her career to nurturing young minds and grew a passion for guiding children. Her impact as a teacher extended beyond the classroom, as her love for family was unparalleled; she cherished every moment spent with them. Lenora's devotion to her loved ones was matched only by her passion for serving her church. In her free time, Lenora found joy in playing the piano. She spent years playing in church and at the nursing home. She even provided lessons to local children. 

Lenora is survived by her son, Kimber Jones (Amy); her grandchildren, Austin Jones (Alyssa), Chandler Jones, Randall Autry (Carly), Aspen (Luke) Pearantoni, Jason Autrey (Amanda) and Travis Autrey (Rebecca); her great grandchildren, AJ Jones, Ashton Jones, Callie Autrey, Rhett Autrey, Jack Pearantoni, Beau Pearantoni, Kaitlen Autrey, Emily Autrey and Ethan Autrey; her sister Norman Jean; and her daughter in law, Karen Autrey. 

Lenora is preceded in death by her Husband CV Jones, her parents Laurence and Danie Pervis, her son David and her sister Joan Meares. 

A funeral service to honor Lenora will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 12:00 at Watson-Milton Funeral Home, Trenton. Family will receive friends for a visitation beginning one hour prior to the service at 11:00 AM. Evelyn will be laid to rest following the service next to her husband, at Jennings Lake Cemetery.
