Elsie Rizer, age 79, of Trenton, FL, passed away on July 12, 2022, at home under care of Haven Hospice. She was born on October 20, 1942, in O’Brien, FL, to Thonis Barnett and Lillie White. Elsie became an LPN and dedicated much of her career to North Florida Rehabilitation and Specialty Care as well as Ayers Health and Rehabilitation. Spending much of her life in Orange Springs, she enjoyed the many local clubs and charities in the area including the Orange Springs Civic club. She was considered Queen “B” of the Red Hat club where she was a devoted member and made many friends along the way. She loved to paint, play cards (Hand&Foot), and serve at her church, Lighthouse Baptist Church. Her greatest joy of all was spending time and making memories with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Elsie is survived by her children, Mike (Sandra) Sauls of Trenton, FL; 4 grandchildren, Ashley Dishman of Trenton, FL, Kaitlynn (Christian) Schnier of Gainesville, FL, Tyler (Hanna) Sauls of Jacksonville, FL, and Shelby (Clint) Lee of Trenton, FL; one brother, John (Marlena) Barnett of O’Brien, FL; and 2 sisters, Emily Sessions of Bell, FL, and Brenda (Wendell) Lemnah of Lake City, FL.
A Memorial to honor Elsie’s life will be held on Saturday, August 13, at 3:00pm, at her church, Lighthouse Baptist Church. 2280 NE CR 315 Ft. McCoy, FL 32134. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Watson-Milton Funeral Home, Trenton. 352-463-8888. Watsonmiltonfh.co
