Donald Serge Werenko, age 78, of Chiefland, FL, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, November 17, 2020. He was born on November 29, 1941 in Lynn, MA to parents, Michael and Mary Sudak Werenko. He lived in Murphy, NC before moving to Chiefland 2 months ago. He was a general contractor and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Werenko proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
He loved being on the water, in his boat, finding the big fish. He enjoyed cross words puzzles, and created many beautifully detailed cross stitch pieces. He was a talented craftsman and could create just about anything from wood, even building a home for his family. He was also an amazing cook and thoroughly enjoyed making meals for his family. He was truly a man of faith and believed in the Lord and trusted in the Word of God with all his heart. He will truly be missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary Werenko and is survived by his wife, Sandra E. Livingstone Werenko of Chiefland; his daughters, Janet(Douglas)Lumbert of Gorham, ME, Francesca(Jim)Brophy of Burlington, VT and Renee Werenko of Raleigh, NC; his sons, Dale(Kathleen)Werenko of New Hill, NC and Charles Werenko of ME; his sister, Starr(Paul)Watson of Bluffton, SC; his brother, Dimitri(Olga)Werenko of Levelland, TX; his aunt, Phyllis White of Beverly, MA, 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
