Dexter Gay

Dexter Gay, age 69, passed away on October 7^th, 2022, while at home surrounded by his family.  He was born on October 21, 1952, in Gainesville, FL to Hubert Gay & Betty Langford.  Dexter was born and raised in Columbia County and lived there all of his life.  He would work various jobs through the years but working for the railroad would prove to be his passion.  Dexter lived and loved the farm life.  He loved caring for livestock and loved caring for his birds.  He enjoyed simple hobbies such as crushing cans and working with aluminum. He loved to be with his family and lend a helping hand to those who could use it. 

He is preceded in death by his father Hubert L. Gay.

He is survived by his mother Betty G. Langford, his brother Earl (Stephanie) Gay of Columbia Co., and siters Roxie Warren of Trenton and Sandra (Alan) Martin of Columbia Co. 

A service to honor Dexter's life will be held on Tuesday, October 11^th at the Center Hill Church Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 3pm and a service to honor his life will begin at 4pm.
