It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deborah Davis-Thomley, a truly remarkable woman who graced our lives with her unwavering kindness and compassionate spirit. Born on September 29, 1953, in Clewiston, Fl, Deborah spent her life dedicated to the well-being of others, serving as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) in the emergency room for 25 years. Her career was just a reflection of her character, as she always put the needs of those around her first, embodying the role of a "Candy Striper" even in her adulthood
A beloved daughter, sister, wife, and friend, Deborah fiercely loved her family and friends, dedicating her entire being to nurturing those relationships. She loved the Lord with all her heart, grounding her in faith and purpose, and her devotion to her loved ones was as boundless as her love for life itself. The beach was one of her favorite places, where she found joy and peace, embodying a spirit that celebrated the beauty of the world around her.
Deborah passed away on March 24, 2025, in Trenton, Florida, surrounded by her beloved family. She leaves behind her cherished husband, Donald Lee Thomley; her loving children, Ashley (Melissa) Thomley and Abby Searles (Matthew); grandchildren Madison Thomley, Caedmon Searles, and Austin (Kaitlin) Guidry; as well as her great-granddaughter Adalin Guidry. She is also survived by her brother Kenneth Edward Davis, sister Lynn Davis Johnston, and many dear nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Deborah was predeceased by her devoted mother, Wilma Evelyn Davis; her father, Luther Nantlias Davis; and her brothers, Herman Lee Davis, Luther Charles Davis, Donald Marion Davis, and Cecil James "Dink" Davis. Each one contributed to the extraordinary legacy of love and compassion that she carried within her.
Deborah loved big. Her passing generated many who knew her to respond with the most heartfelt words that described her such as: "Sweet Soul, Amazing Woman, Kind, Loving, Angel on Earth, True Gem, Absolute Icon, Tru Advocate, Role Model, Bright Light, Dancing Queen, Beautiful Heart, Full of Life, Mom to Many, Heart of Gold, Joyful, Blessing, Supportive, Encouraging, Humorous, Confidant, Loyal Friend, and Sister in Christ."
As we reflect on Deborah’s life, we celebrate her vivacious spirit, her infectious laughter and her soul, which radiated with the love and joy she had for The Lord and others. Her legacy of strength, love, kindness and light lives in each one of us through the memories and time spent together. May we hold tight those memories and continue to honor and celebrate her today and all the days to come.
