Casey Ray Loy

April 3, 1989 — May 19, 2024

Casey Ray Loy, age 35, of Trenton, FL, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2024, at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville. He was born on April 3, 1989, in Chattanooga, TN, to Carl Loy and Connie (Hutchinson) Loy. At a young age, Casey and his family moved to Trenton. He was a 2007 graduate of Trenton High School and excelled in basketball, his favorite sport. After graduating, he went to Sante Fe College where he obtained his EMT certificate before heading to Florida State Fire College in Ocala where he got his firefighting certificate. Not long after, Casey had some friends who were electricians and talked him into trying electrical work. He really enjoyed it and began traveling around the country, working at various industrial plants. His job landed him in Atlanta where he joined the IBEW local 613. He found a home with Womack Electric. Following his accident, Casey came back to Trenton to be with his family. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved being on the water, fishing and boating. He also enjoyed golfing and playing fantasy football, baseball, basketball, and hockey. If you knew Casey, you knew he was a huge Kentucky Wildcat fan. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Nellie Hutchinson and Carol Loy, and his uncle, Gary Loy.

He is survived by his parents, Carl W. and Connie Loy of Trenton; his brother, Carl H. (Angela) Loy of Trenton; his nieces and nephews, CJ, Hannah, Paige, and Jasper Loy all of Trenton; grandparents, Carl G. Loy of Rising Fawn, GA. and Linda Jo Hamilton of Lexington, KY.; aunts and uncles, John and Lisa Deaton of Lexington, KY, Mike and Sandy Sauls and Stan and Kathy Hutchinson all of Trenton; numerous cousins and extended family also survive.
