Betty Langford Gay, age 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 9, 2023, surrounded by her family. Betty was born in Trenton, Florida to the late Maggie Mae Sheffield and Joseph Arthur Langford. She was a faithful member of High Springs Church of Christ. Betty was a genuine person who always extended a helping hand to those in need. She had a special talent and love for playing guitar but could play any instrument placed in her hand. In her spare time, she enjoyed relaxing on the porch watching her chickens, camping, fishing and surrounded herself by her family.
Betty is proceeded in death by her husband, Hubert Lee Gay; her son, Dexter Gay; her brothers, Herman Langford, Carlton Langford and Melvin Langford.
Betty is survived by her son, Earl (Stephine) Gay of Fort White; her daughters, Roxie Warren of Trenton and Sandra (Alan) Martin of Fort White; her brother, Joe (Teri) Langford of Tampa; her sisters Joyce Trails of Fort White, Phroni Stanley of Tampa, Marie Johns, and Sue Riner of Fort White and many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
A service to honor Betty will be held Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 3:00 at Watson-Milton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 2:00pm. Betty will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Center Hill Church of Christ Cemetery.
