Barney Otto Faircloth

Barney Faircloth age 89 passed away peacefully at his home in Trenton, FL. September 4,2022. He was born on March 12, 1933, to Marshall and Ella (Kersey) Faircloth in Ocala, Fl. Barney was a cattleman, horseman, farmer and, his true passion, professional rodeo cowboy. He was a member and participant in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) as a calf roper, steer wrestler and frequent rodeo judge. He traveled the PRCA circuit all across the United States. He is perhaps the most recognized cowboy from Florida with six All-Around Cowboy of Florida titles and three All-Around Cowboy wins at the Silver Spurs Rodeo in Kissimmee, Fl in 1964,1969, and 1971. Upon hanging up his spurs in the late 70's and early 80's he devoted his time to raising beef cattle, hay, farming and spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Barney, as he was referred to by many, will remain forever in our hearts. Barney is preceded in death by his father Marshall, mother Ella, brother Tommy, sister and brother-in-law Sylvia and Don Emery, brother-n- law Quincey Langston, and son Bert. Barney is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years Mary (Redoutey) Faircloth, daughter Elwanda (Lesley)Gore, sons Rick and Jonny, daughter in laws Dianne and Kristin, sisters Audrey Langston of Palatka Fl. and Shelia Thompkins of Tennessee, 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends. Barney's request for a simple cremation is under the direction of Watson-Milton Funeral Home Trenton, Fl.
