B. "Frank" Colson

Benjamin Franklin “Frank” Colson, age 91, of Trenton, Fl, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024.

Frank was born March 6, 1933, in Trenton, FL to Clyde and Maggie Colson. He was a lifelong resident of Gilchrist County. He graduated from Trenton High School and served four years in the Air Force. He raised cows and farmed watermelons, corn, grass seed, and soybeans. He was a lifelong member of Cherry Sink Church of Christ. He was member of Gilchrist County Farm Bureau and Gilchrist County Cattleman’s Association. Frank was awarded the Century Pioneer Farm Family in 2009.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Kate Colson of Trenton, FL; his children Amy (Jeffrey) Spencer of High Springs, FL, Gina (Hank) Rone of Alachua, FL, and Ben (Paige) Colson of Trenton, Fl; his grandchildren Garrett (Joy) Spencer of Alachua, FL, Caul (Nathalie) Spencer of High Springs, FL, Hayley, Hannah and Garrison Rone of Alachua, FL, and John Brooks, Robert Franklin “Bo” and Andrew Colson of Trenton, FL; His sisters Elizabeth Gay of Atlanta, GA, and Louise Key of Brandon, FL and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral to honor Frank’s life will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024, at 10:30 am, at the Cherry Sink Church of Christ. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Sunday, June 30, from 6-8:00 pm at Waston-Milton Funeral Home.
