Andrew Decker, an entrepreneur and beloved family man, passed away on October 11, 2023, in Gilchrist County, Florida. Born on March 2, 1981, in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Andrew's journey as an entrepreneur began when he founded a driving school from scratch. With his unwavering determination, he transformed it into a thriving enterprise. Education played a significant role in Andrew's life. He took great pride in being the first college bachelor's degree graduate on his side of the family. His pursuit of knowledge did not stop there, as he also earned a Master's degree.
Described as someone always ready to lend a helping hand, Andrew had a compassionate nature. His selflessness extended beyond helping others; his children held an immeasurable place in his heart. Andrew cherished being a father and dedicated himself wholeheartedly to the well-being and happiness of Ayden and Alanna.
Among Andrew's many achievements were his involvement in the political arena and active participation in community organizations. As an elected Republican Precinct Committeeman in Benton County, Oregon, he contributed to shaping local politics by representing the interests of the community.
Andrew served as the President of the honor society, Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), at Linn Benton Community College. Additionally, he was a member of the Albany Rifle and Pistol Club, where he pursued his passion for competitive shooting as a participant in United States Pistol Shooting Association (USPSA) events. Andrew also enjoyed various hobbies. He found joy by playing billiards on the local pool team. It was through this shared passion that he formed lasting connections.
Andrew's life was enriched by the loving presence of his family and friends. He is survived by his children Ayden and Alanna, who brought immense joy into his life. Andrew's parents, Paula Armbruster and Thom Decker, will forever cherish their memories of him.
